WANTED

We are collecting stories and information from coxswains and crew of

ANY World War II, Korean or Vietnam War era small amphibious boats

(LCP(L), LCS, LCP(R), LCVP, LCM). Information you have will help us

tell the story of the war through the eyes of the crews who ran these great boats.

The National D-Day Museum is at the corner of "Andrew Higgins Drive" and Magazine St. as Howard Ave. from Lee Circle to the river has been renamed to honor Andrew Higgins.

On May 4, 2000, Congressman William Jefferson introduced a bill (H.R. 4384) authorizing Congress to award gold medals to the family of Andrew Jackson Higgins and the wartime employees of Higgins Industries, in recognition of their contributions to the Nation and to the Allied victory in World War II.  Click here to see the full text of the legislation.
